Michael has extensive experience in the criminal and civil jurisdiction. He served with the South Australia Police moving through the ranks to Chief Superintendent. The majority of his service was in the Criminal Investigation Branch (Detective).
Michael then took up the position of Executive Director, Investigations Division at the New South Wales (Australia) Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). He held this position for four (4) years. During that period he had managerial oversight of more than 300 preliminary investigations and 50 major corruption related investigations.
Michael has been contracted to the UN, USAid (through Management Information Systems), APEC and the UNODP. He has been directly involved in training of personnel in corruption related matters in Serbia, Bhutan, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Malaysia. He lectures post graduate and specialist courses at the Hong Kong University, the Wollongong University and the Australian National University.
Putting his experience to good use, Michael is a member of Fulcrum’s Investigations Team, conducting due diligence and internal investigations on behalf of corporate clients on a range of compliance related issues including anti-bribery and corruption.
Michael’s specialist qualifications include Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional – International (CCEP-I). He is an accredited mediator and qualified arbitrator.
