Rubi is a triple qualified lawyer – England & Wales, Portugal and Brazil. Her practice focuses on highly complex commercial litigation and arbitration cases (both domestic and international), regulatory and compliance matters and internal investigations.
She has experience working both in private practice (for Magic and Silver Circle firms) and in-house. Before joining Fulcrum, Rubi worked for a Chinese conglomerate operating in the telecoms, ports, infrastructure and retail sectors.
Prior to relocating to the UK in 2013, Rubi was an Associate in a well regarded law firm in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she worked in several high profile arbitration cases involving multinational corporations operating in the construction, energy and automotive sectors.
She has a First Class degree in Law and an LLM in International Dispute Resolution.
Rubi was for over 15 years in the Brazil women’s national Water Polo Team. She represented the country in three World Championships in Australia, Japan, and Spain. Rubi won four consecutive gold medals in the South American Games, and a bronze medal in the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Helen is recognised as a specialist in investigations and prosecutions relating to bribery, corruption and fraud. She has extensive knowledge of the regulatory framework having worked at the Serious Fraud Office for almost 20 years where she specialised in extradition and mutual legal assistance. While with the SFO she has worked as an investigating lawyer on some of the SFO’s earliest landmark cases including Barlow Clowes and BCCI. She advises clients across multiple jurisdictions, carrying out anti-corruption assessments and advising on international investigations on high-profile and sensitive cases.
Helen is currently appointed as Special Prosecutor to the Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands, leading a large team of investigators and lawyers investigating allegations of government corruption, arising from the Report the Commission of Inquiry lead by Sir Robin Auld QC Public Inquiry in 2008.
